October 2, 2020: The provincial government has put into effect a colour code system with the greater Montreal area (including Longueuil) as "red". As a result, Cineplex will be completely closed for the month of October. We will continue to stream our services at 10h15 on Facebook and our website.
Join us as we continue our series "Dear Churches" and remember our sermons are recorded and saved on both our website and facebook pages. You can also find the audio on Apple podcasts and Podbean.

July 25, 2020: We are continuing our message series "Podcasts from Peter" into the month of August. There will be two guest speakers on July 26 and August 2. Pastors John Ippolito (Laval Christian Assembly) and Ron Rust (Trinity Pentecostal Church) will encourage and challenge you with their own stand alone messages. These will be on Facebook at 11am and then posted to our website.
We are tracking towards regathering at Cineplex Dix30 on September 20, 2020. This is dependant on that status of the virus and the restrictions that Cineplex has in place.
Stay safe over the summer - praying for you all!

June 5, 2020: Beginning June 7, a new series "Podcasts from Peter". We will be taking a walk through Peter's two letters to believers scattered in various provinces in the ancient Roman world. Remember the various letters in the New Testament were written forms of communication because the authors were not able to be in the same place as the audience. If Peter had internet technology he would have used that as well! As we are scattered in homes and unable to meet in the same place at the same time, we'll find out how relevant these two letters are today in the 21st century.
Beginning June 8, we'll be doing a weekday video teaching "Your questions...God's questions". Not only will we take a look at the most common questions people have about God and Christianity, but also the questions God raises in the Bible. If you have a question, please submit it at through the contact page.
Remember to tune in live on Facebook Sundays at 11am, and that you do not need a facebook account to watch. All of our Zoom meetings are by invitation to those on our contact list. Text "reachtheone" to 514-900-0130 to join and keep up to date with all our announcements through your phone and email. You'll also get free access to RightNowMedia, the largest video streaming Bible study in the world.
Praying for you all!

April 18, 2020: We have a new series, "Christ in the Crisis", beginning April 19 on the book of Acts. This will take us all the way up to Sunday, May 31. Services will continue to be live streamed live on Facebook at 11am until Cineplex re-opens its doors. Remember you do not need a Facebook account to watch our content. You can also watch recordings on our website or listen on Apple podcasts or Podbean.
The book of Acts is filled with lessons about dealing with various forms of crisis so wherever you are in life, you will relate. As this book of the Bible is new for many people, we are also going to have weekday video devotions also on Facebook, as we did for Easter.
Then on May 31 (whether we are on-line or back at the theatre), we will have a special quiz game covering all the content of the series. This was a big hit for Easter so we will do it again, the prize will once again be a brand new Ipad! If you didn't win at Easter you'll have another chance on May 31!
Until May 31, all first time Sunday guests who register will receive a little e-gift from Tim Hortons so invite friends to join our livestream!
Sunday April 26, 2020, at 3pm we will have special guests on our Zoom call - Don and Marie José Mann, our global workers. They will be talking about how to trust God in times of trial and change. A link to the Zoom call will be sent through our e-list. If you are not subscribed to our list, text "Reachtheone" to 514-900-0130 and follow the prompts.
Praying for you all!

April 3, 2020: Things continue to change weekly. We have entered the month of April so check Canada.ca for all details regarding the various forms of financial support available through the Federal government.
As we continue doing church completely "on line" in the month of April, here are a few things to remember...
1) Watch our services live on Facebook. You do NOT need to be a Facebook subscriber to do so. If you miss a Sunday, no problem the video remains on the page. You may also watch or listen on our own website here.
2) Watch our weekday Easter Devotionals, which are also on Facebook and our website. On Easter Sunday we are going to have a super fun event using the Zoom and Kahoot platforms to play the Ultimate Easter Quiz, with a brand new Ipad for the winner! You'll need wifi in your home, with two devices connected. One for the questions on Zoom and one for the answers on Kahoot. All details to be revealed on April 12 during our service, so you'll need to tune in!
3) Join our Zoom calls. We meet on Wednesdays at 7pm and Sundays at 3pm. Links will be sent out via text and email, so make sure I have your contact info. If you are not receiving either, message me at the address on our contact us page.
4) Give electronically. Every individual, home, and business is feeling the financial devastation of this pandemic. The church is not exempt. You can continue to support our online platforms, which are reaching people far from God, as well as our missionaries, by giving on our website here. You may also use Interac e-transfer to etransfer@citypointchurch.ca. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Continuing to pray for you all!

March 16, 2020: There are new restrictions from the Provincial government. Click the link below and scroll down to "closing of businesses and public spaces"
https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/2019-coronavirus/
The earliest our church will meet back at the Cineplex will be April 5, 2020, however this may change.
Our Sugar Shack event planned for March 21 is postponed as a result of these new restrictions. We may need to cancel depending on how long this lasts, if so, all who registered will be refunded.
We will continue to stream our services on Facebook live on Sunday mornings at 11 AM. Join us by clicking here. Share the feed with friends, participate with comments, questions and prayer requests.
For those not on Facebook, a recording of the message will be placed on our church website, click here, just scroll to the bottom of the page (below the audio files) to see the videos.
I encourage you to continue to practice generosity. We still have fairly normal expenses even though we are temporarily not meeting at Cineplex. You can do so on line here and we can handle an Interac e-transfer through the phone number or email on our contact us page
I will soon be starting a video devotional series called "The Countdown to Easter". You'll want to join in and get into the Easter narrative in the Bible. You could win a brand new Ipad on Easter Sunday as a result!
You'll be receiving regular mass texts through our "flocknote" system, and this page you are reading now will continue to be updated.
Praying for you all - Bless!

March 13, 2020 7pm: The Quebec government has released an English version of their updated COVID 19 information
https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/2019-coronavirus/
City Point Church will NOT be meeting at Cineplex Dix30 in Brossard for March 15 and 22. We feel this is the most reasonable decision given some of the similarities between the atmosphere of a school and a church gathering. All schools and daycares are closed for two weeks as per the Provincial announcement made today.
We will continue to "do church" using our already existing streaming technology. On Sunday March 15 and Sunday March 22, a live stream of the week's sermon will run at 11:00 AM on our Facebook page @ citypointquebec. You may participate with questions and/or prayer requests during and after the feed through Facebook. We will also post the video of the sermon on this website for those not on Facebook. We also encourage people to subscribe (at no cost) and make use of "Right Now Media", the largest video Bible study streaming service in the world. If you are not subscribed already, contact me at jfriedland@citypointchurch.ca for details. Your online generosity can also continue electronically through this website at this link.
I encourage everyone to take advantage of this time that you will be with your children and family members. Practice grace and calmness, don't panic, be wise, safe and practical. We are here for you, if you are "bouncing off the walls" or feeling isolated and alone, feel free to reach out to me at this link.
Praying for a fruitful and healthy next two weeks for all!
Bless - Pastor Joe
March 13, 2020: This is a rapidly developing, cultural and international crisis. The Federal and Quebec governments have issued new measures within the last 24 hours. Here are a few helpful guidelines.
First and foremost be properly informed. Here are two links from the Federal and Quebec governments that are very informative.
https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection.html
Second, do not panic. The Bible teaches about how God is never in a panic or shock when it comes to worldwide or local crises of any kind. In fact it teaches that we can, because of our hope in Jesus, be able to face even death itself, without fear.
Third, be practical. Faith is not an excuse to stop thinking! In fact, Biblical faith means we use our brains and behave with practicality and wisdom. From the way we should cough to hand washing, to sensible ways of greeting one another, to self-quarantining if you have been travelling, the goal is to slow the spread of this highly infectious virus.
As of today March 13, City Point Church is evaluating, based on the decision of the management of Cineplex Dix30 in Brossard (which is not yet finalized), whether or not we will continue to meet Sunday mornings or encourage an on-line experience through our already existing livestream technology - visit this page for regular updates.
Bless - Pastor Joe
